Sccfren i t JtteA zye As this school year comes to a close and you are about to leave Van-Cove High School, permit me to say that this has been one of the most enjoyable years of my teaching career. I’d like to give you some advice which I hope you will accept in the spirit in which it is given. First, live your life one day at a time and do not tackle your whole life’s problems at once. Adapt yourself to the present and do not attempt to make mankind over in your own image. Second, live everyday to the fullest, for days gone by are gone forever, but so live that if you re called without notice your preparations will need no completion. Third, remember that you make no footprints on the sand of time while sitting down. Your best intentions are destroyed by hesitation. Remember your character will never need defending if you stand straight before man and walk straight with God. Remember though, that no man stands as straight as he who stoops to help his fellow man. May the learning you have received from this school inspire you to send your roots like those of a mighty oak, deep in the soil of life’s most endearing values enabling you to so live that you may be an asset to your family, your community, and your God. V e d 0 c c (X t C “It’s all up to you.” Everyone recognizes this quote as one heard often in Mrs. Alma Riley’s classes. In this way-her way-she says the truth. What happens to one’s life is left to each individual. She has been teaching us Seniors from our start in high school. In appreciation, we, the Senior Class, proudly dedicate the 1967 Hornet to Mrs. Alma Riley for HER dedication to Van-Cove High School and her striving efforts in trying to give us something for our time.
