WHAT AMERICA MEANS TO ME America to me is the most beautiful country on the face of the earth, full of nature's most wonderful mysteries. The land is fruitful no matter where you go. As you stand on the highest mountain or look up from the deepest valley you are speechless as you wonder how God could make any place so grand. He planned each of her lakes, each river, every blade of grass, the smallest rose, the largest tree, the greatest forest, from her oceans to her desert sands, lt seems He put a little extra love and care into the land He made from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This extra blessing makes America like no other land in the whole world. The most wonderful beauty ever to be seen in this land is up in the sky waving its colors, red, white, and blue. The red is for a soldier's blood. White is for purity. The bright stars stand for each state joined together in the blue loyalty. Together the flag stands for one nation full of freedom for every man. No matter what religion, how rich or how poor, or what color a person's skin may be. in American lands they are all equal by law. lt is a country of equal opportunity. America is ruled by the people. This is why America is the people who live in it and work for it. Unlike most other countries, America lets her people have their say and do as they wish. There is nothing more American than worshiping in the church of your choice, with no fear of persecution. America has more freedom andjusticc than any other country. More than anything else America is home. lt is hotdogs and baseball, T.V., Santa Claus, superman. and Uncle Sam, eornllakes, bingo, popcorn, bubble gum, OK , Swanee, and the Liberty Bell. It's that feeling that you get deep down inside when you hear that military band. No matter if you are from the North or South or from the East or West, America is that patriotic something that chokes you up and brings a tear to your eye when you are coming home from abroad. As you see that Golden Gate or the Statue of Liberty, something tells you that this splendored country is the land of your birth. Pride swells within you. You'll close your eyes and pray a little prayer of hope that through the years your country will stay as beautiful as it is that very moment. .Bonnie 5104215
