zwjmjcszoss js Van Alstyne dances were really moving this year. We had quite a few of them! Among some were the Homecoming, Victory, Valentine, and end of school dances. The Homecoming dance music was supplied by a hired DJ from Oklahoma. But the other three dances had music from our own school's DJs. It is always nice to have them back. The picture at the right shows our wonderful DJs! The Victory dance was held in honor of our great football team for their accomplishments this year. The Valentine's dance was semi-formal and a good time to be with your sweetheart!! The Student Council sponsored all of the dances and provided refreshments. Who knows, Van Alstyne may have a Fred Astaire someday!

The classes this year were full of excitement. The cheerleaders sponsored dress-up days, and the students had a blast! Some of the dress-up days were: Tie Day, 50's Day, Western Day, Punk Prep Day, Hat Day, Sunglasses Day, Blue and White Day, and Twin Day. We had a lot of student participation, which made the days very fun. The teachers did the judging this year. The punk prep day results are on the opposite page. We had two other winners whose pictures were not available They were: Missy Pittman (Ronald McDonald), and Lisa Thomas (Tweety Bird)-Most Original. On Hat Day, the teachers chose Justin Buckner's hat to top off all the rest. Way to go Everyone!!
