We call the building by any number of good and bad names. Formally it is known as the Chapel of the Resurrection. At var- ious times it has also been referred to as the Liturgical Field- house and the Resurrection Hotel. Seating over 3,000 people, it seems a little large to be dubbed the Chapel. Did you hear that it's sinking? Some people say it is, some say it isn't, and some say it was but now its stopped. Those that say its sinking maintain it will probably crumble in about 100 years. Now wouldn't that be a waste of millions of dollars? If nothing else, you must admit that its at least a beauti- ful building. The design and construction are modern but for some reason I always feel as if I have been transported back a few centuries and am attending service in a medieval cathedral.

Lots of people complained this year about having to juggle three books to get through a service. But have you noticed how the hymns don't seem to sound quite as beautiful anywhere else? And where else could you go and have a sermon tailored to get you through mideterms? Somehow, whether you're a Lutheran or not, or whether or not you even care about any church, the chapel manages to teave a lasting imprint in the heart or the soul or the memory.
