in spite of the folklore girls dontt come to college to find mates- there are hundreds of ways to meet guys that are easier and more alluring than over a microscope in a 7:30 biology lab. still there appears to be an insecurity about college life which causes us to reach outh and to our wonderment and surprise, find something or someone to hold on to. the wonder of antiseptically clean, fearfully unerring modern science has yet to explain, understand, or dissect the mystery of human relationships. l6

the coney island of the mind letls face iteas a whole, were not too culturally minded here at valpo. basketball games, rush parties or a doris day movie at the premier take precedence over shakespear 0r Shaw. occasionally we take time to look at the art exhibits in the library or see a foreign film if the advertising is alluring enough. there are recitals by music students, one-act plays, lyceum concerts or line art exhibits, all of which are attendedeby students who take the time to see what valpo has to offer culturally. doris is bound to stop smiling someday, and there are a few who will be prepared for that great calamity. l8
