The third aspect of life at Valparaiso University, the academic side, is most forcefully expressed in the beauti- ful Henry F. Moellering Memorial Library. In this building students find the books and research materials needed for study, a quiet and well-lighted place to pre- pare lessons, and usually another student or two ready to discuss a difficult part of tomorrowgs assignment. The library is adequately supplied with books, refer- ence materials, and periodicals to meet the needs of Valpo's student body. The students are allowed free access to the book stacks, and they are encouraged to browse among them for their own advantage in studying. The large reading room contains all the necessary refer- ence materials from the unabridged dictionary to the many-volumned encyclopaedias and atlases. Here stu- dents are also offered an atmosphere highly conducive to long hours of concentrated study. The periodical room, likewise, offers students the best study conditions and the latest in a wide variety of periodical literature. The Henry F. Moellering Memorial Library.
