22 Dedications To a growing university like Valpo the dedications of buildings becomes a part of every day life. This year Valpo dedicates the largest chapel on any college campus A procession of Lutheran Clergymen and University Officials marched around the chapel to properly dedicate the edifice. The Christus Rex, the alter crucifix, are a masterpiece of mosaic tile and brass. The Henry F. Moellering Memorial Library was a much needed addition to the Univer- sity skyline. Other dedications were the Gloria Christi chapel under the chancel of the memorial Chapel, the music window, and the huge organ.

Valpo was not without its famous name entertainment this year. Along with Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Obernkirchen Childreds Choir, Stan Kenton and his band appeared with June Christy and the Four Freshmen. Ahmad Jamal and others also visited Valpots campus. 24
