Fore wo rd Indiana, the state that treasures Valparaiso University, holds an out- standing position in the story of the progress of our country. In the theme we have brought out certain developments which have contrib- uted to her growth and honor and which have made Indiana famous. If we can impress upon your minds how highly Indiana is esteemed in her rel- ative position with other states, if we can create an appreciation and love for her, and if you are urged on to do greater things because of what has been done in the past, our efforts in organizing this Record have not been in vain.
