Ifartmorb r RfrjE ' nave worked on this volume with energy and deter- mination, and in presenting it, we are aware that it is not what we tried to make it, or would like to have it, but we trust our critics will not cast it aside as worthless. To those who have not attended Valparaiso University, this will give an insight into our college life; to those who have, it will call up pleasant memories of our school days. Taken as a whole, this book represents the University in all the different phases in a way that nothing else can, and we hope that when the 1914 Record appears before the public, it will not be found wanting in the essential elements of a publication of its kind. A large part of the success of this book is due to the effic- ient Board of Managers, who have handled the financial part of the work so well. We desire especially to express our thanks to Paul Mather, Staff Artist, for the art work, and to Lindsay I.
