Paula Morphis helps serve at the Ham Dinner sponsored by the band. Band illustrates versatility The Marching Vikings, directed by Mr. Robert Miller, entertained during halftime at home football games. At the close of foot- ball, the band auditioned for positions in the concert band, which gave performances in the Christmas program and the Spring Concert. They also participated in the state contest and NISBOVA. The proceeds from the annual Ham Dinner held at T.J. were used toward the purchas- ing of badly needed uniforms. The pep band played their spirit-lifting marches during pep sessions and football and basketball games. Mary Dust helps Nicky Hasse gel ready for a half-time performance. 19

Mr. Rohn consults with a beginning typing pupil on proper typing techniques. New class added; lab class revised For the first time a clerical lab for prospec- tive business employees was introduced. The lab gave the non-shorthand student an oppor- tunity to apply all former business training to a business-type situation. Nine girls enrolled in the two-hour secre- tarial lab. Three years of planned scheduling are necessary for this class. The course pre- pared future secretaries in business tech- niques. In other business classes, bookkeeping, business law, clerical records, sales, short- hand, and typing, pupils learned that patience and practice are two rules a business student never forgets. Second year typist, Darlene Bator, concentrates on accuracy to complete her job with no errors. 20
