Carole Hill points out that ledger work involves balanced accounts . . . checking and rechecking for errors. Adjust- ing the mimeograph machine . . . Lenora Chandler makes duplicate copies for office practice. Dexterity and Intelligence Providing Efficiency Behind business operations ... an enterprising department of office workers . . . typing and dupli- cating . . . taking dictation and filing . . . keeping books . . . performing duties with efficiency that gets a job done. Business teachers, Miss Donna Skruber, Mr. Garth Johnson, Mr. Bryce Bohn, and Mr. John Wiggins spent this year teaching students to pre- pare for future jobs in the business world. Book- keeping, shorthand, and typing were offered to those interested in clerical or secretarial work. Practice was the key word for typing students. This was also true in shorthand as students ad- vanced from the formation of simple words to the rapid pace of dictation. The bookkeeping students strived for accuracy. Business law and general business were offered to those interested in obtaining a basic under- standing of business terms and practices. Guest speakers were invited to talk to the classes.
