We Never Lose Our Pep Ability! PEP CLUB OFFICERS Miss Margaret Nelson, Miss Sandra Dragoo, Mr. Leon Boothe, sponsors; Mary Ellen Dayton, secretary; Linda Follis, treasurer; Diane DeGrazia, president; Pat Wagner, vice-president. White shirts and green hats— that’s our VHS Pep Club. The 1960-1961 Pep Club, with over 500 members, played a big part in school activities. The officers, Diane DeGrazia, president; Pat Wagner, vice-presi- dent; Mary Ellen Dayton, secretary; and Linda Follis, treasurer, with the help of the three new sponsors, Miss Sandra Dragoo, Miss Margaret Nelson, and Mr. Leon Boothe, began planning the year’s program early. To begin club activity, a bake sale was held during the summer. During the football season the club decided to make a new addition to the customary football cheers: the junior and senior girls formed a “V” for the boys to run through as they left the field after each home game. The Homecoming Court was sponsored by Pep Club at the annual Homecoming Dance. In November the successful end of football season was celebrated at the Kick-Out Dance at the Junior High. Returning with the excitement of basketball season came the familiar green beanies. The new mascot, wee Bonnie Huff, helped us cheer the team to victory. 26
