V. H. S. ON THE MOVE According to the laics of nature, there is movement at all times. This movement is not confined to any particular section of the world, country, city, or toum; neither does it mean any special type of movement. There is movement so ' small that it. is hidden from the human eye; hut, there is also a very noticeable movement: the movement of people going to and from one place and another through the events of everyday life. In school life there are many sights and sounds that prove this. Scurrying feet over the hall floors and up and down stairs in the five minutes break between classes, basketballs bouncing and fans waving -wildly as they ready themselves for plenty of action, pens moving rapidly over paper or fingers busily pecking away on type- writers, shuffling of feet and tapping of pen- cils as the clock nears “bell time,” these and many more movements make up the busy, everyday schedule iti the lives of all at V.H.S. “ Which way do we turn next? Junior and Senior officers frantically ask as they lead the Grand March. Shangri-La Shangri-la, presented by the Class of 1960, was the theme of the Junior-Senior Prom. It was held on May 15, 1959. The couples entered Boucher Gymnasium through a span of cherry blossoms over a white bridge. As they journeyed through the Japanese garden, they saw gaily painted Japanese screens, a gold and black pagoda in the center, and a mural of a small city in the distance. The sky presented a blue mist above the garden. Music was presented by the Phi Mu Cru Band of Ball State Teach- ers College. A happy evening in Shangri-la was memorable to all. 4
