Homecoming The annual Homecoming game was held on September 18, against Gary Froebel. After the game the students attended the traditional Homecoming Dance. The court was announced by the 1958 Junior class president, Jim Donley. Barbara Bolles was the first to approach the throne to the tune of Stardust.” Paula Snodgrass, escorted by Gary Marten and Tom Dean, was followed by Herta Dravininkas who was escorted by Bob Gore and Bob Gahl. Ed Swanson and Jim Loayza escorted Brenda Johnson. Last to step into the spotlight was Lynne Miller, escorted by Bob Boling. Sandy Sweet, Crownbearer, and Lee Black, Scepterbearer, preceded the Queen. Approaching the throne to become the 1959 Homecoming Queen was Marianne McKellips. Football co-captains Jim Donley and Dick Ebersold crowned the Queen. “ Smile for the picture!” Senior girls wait anxiously in the gym lobby for the moment to come when they can perform the annual senior girls’ skit— a pre-Home- coming game amusement. 6

Letitia Lawler, 1959 Spring Beauty Queen, was crowned by co-captains Dave Kreider and Scotty Ward at the annual Valpo Relays, which were held on April 28, 1959. The court, from left to right, is Tish Law- ler, Judy Jolley, Carol Eckert, Susanne deSimon, Pat O ' Mal- ley and Sharon Meyer. It was chosen by the members of the track team.
