JA Wham The New Names, New Faces of traditionally green freshmen filled V. H.S. halls and classrooms during the first weeks of this school year. Now, however, the freshman class has come into its own, and next year, it will be able to step into the sophomores' shoes with confidence. The first girl class President since l953, Barbara Bobbie Bush led the class through their first year. She was assisted by Vice-President Bill Hildreth, Secretary Judy de Simon, and Treasurer Nita Flowers. The freshmen ioined many clubs! They will always remember the father-son Hi-Y induction and that terrible night of G ,A.A. initiation. Collecting leaves was a part of every freshman's year, along with following the freshman basketball team and the two new freshmen cheer- leaders. All of these activities plus schoolwork helped the freshmen move forward on their uphill climb through high school.
