ll Grace Rickard Marlene Wolfe Secretaries Recently in Mr. Telle's office many students were surprised to find their classmate, Marlene Wolfe, behind the desk formerly occupied by Marilyn Lembke. The student body is justly proud of the efficient and polite manner in which Marlene has so ably adjusted herself to this important position. Grace Rickard, a pleasant and familiar face in Valparaiso High School, has filled her posi- tion as secretary to Mr, Phillips for many years, always cheerful and courteous as she goes about her many duties. Board of Education Behind the scenes in this city's fine school system, three prominent Valparaiso businesse men are working diligently to assure the best educational opportunities to all students, both at the present time and in the future, These men, Orval R. Burns, president, Lynnet M, Cas- bon, secretary, and Walter H. Hathaway, treas- urerg have served on the Board of Education for several years, The job of these men carries a great deal of responsibility and requires them to make im- portant decisions. G. Warren Phillips King Telle Superintendent A great deal of recognition is due Mr. G. Warren Phillips for the smooth running school system of Valparaiso, For the past eight years, Mr. Phillips has done an exceptionally line job in attending to the numerous responsibilities of his high position. In addition to his regular duties, Mr. Phillips is now faced with the problems of the ever ex- panding school population of Valparaiso, We are confident that Mr, Phillips will carry out this big responsibility with the same foresight and superior ability that he has exercised in the past. Mr. Phillips received his AB. from DePauw University and his MS. from Indiana University. Principal No school could be more fortunate than in Valparaiso High School when it comes to prin- cipals. Beloved and respected by all, Mr. Telle has displayed a rare combination of humor and discipline in his associations with the student body. ln spite of the big load that rests on his shoulders, he has a warm and friendly smile for everyone. In the six years that Mr. Telle has been at this school, he has had a keen interest in school activities, both scholastic and social. He has been accepted by the students as a true friend, always ready to help and coeoperate When- ever he is needed, which is quite often. Mr. Telle received his AB. from Hanover College and his MS. from Indiana University.
