m:% S 1 Vicki uilli Open Arms Greets Spring In the spring, thoughts turned to the Prom, Senior Day, bacca- laureate, and commencement. Phil Findling, Junior Class president, led the 1949 Prom line with Margaret Johnson. Second in line were Ken Dob- bins, Senior Class president, and Virginia Brown. Jack Thomas was master-of-cere- monies on Senior Day and Joyce Vietzke, Valedictorian, spoke on: Our task in Tomorrow ' s World, at Commencement.

Mrs. Fisher, Miss Hudson, Miss Sieb, Mr. Koch, Mrs. Foor, and Miss McGillicud- dy observed the Prom from the sidelines. Meanwhile, punch was served in an- other corner. Blue crepe paper and yellow butter- flies were the decorations for the event. The girls in the lower left corner were performing their version of Swannee at the Senior Day festivities. Below, Susan Nichols read the class will on the same occasion. Rex Bucher ' s and Jack Bailey ' s yodling along with Marian Ehrhardt ' s hill- billy version of Timtation, at the Senior Day festivities, were a far cry from the choir ' s Festival Finale and The Lost Chord, under the direction of Mrs. Mary Myers, at commencement. Upper left: Cloyd Walker followed by Marilyn Miller and Vernon Smith, received his diploma from Mr. Telle. Below: Gene Braun and Eu- gene Ransom marched in to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance.
