FOREWORD The purpose of every annual is to provide the t'ttreaderii with an almost complete look at the past year. It serves to remind him of events in which he took part, honors he may have won, and most of all, the people he met during the year. Because of the size of this annual, it is hard to give a detailed view. But we hope that piecing together certain varied aspects of life at ttTechii, we can give the tireaderii an overall look at the past year. Just as the purpose is the same, so is the amount of work involved. Every annual requires the help of certain people in order to make its publication possible. The editing staff wishes to thank Mr. Henry Eells - advisor, Mr John Long, Mr. Rodney Wilkins, Miss Margarett Crummett and Mrs. Phyllis Coyner for use of the copying machines, and all the faculty and students who helped with picture identification. We hope this annual does indeed serve its purpose to you and that the people mentioned above realize our appreciation for their help. eEditors DEDICATION As most of us know, a change occurred during the summer in the administration at Valley tiTechii. Promoted is Mr. Mark Pace, who has taken on his new job as Director of Vocational Education in Augusta County and the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro. Arriving to take his place, is a man whose career as principal of Fort Defiance High School and his exceptional work throughout this community has proven that he can and does get the job done. He takes on his new job with great enthusiasm and confidence, a confidence which is shared by faculty and students alike. Certainly Fort Defianceis loss is Valley iiTechisi, gain. And so, it is with great pride and admiration that the editors of the 1974-1975 iiSPECIALISTsii dedicate this yearis annual to our new principal, Mr. John Long. -the Editors
