physical education , The major goal of the gym department is to keep our lazy generation physically fit through basketball, volleyball, football, soft- ball, and calisthenics. The goals of the hard- working students, however, differ: to hide your white T-shirt under the green gym shirt, to cover up your girdle with a too tight gym suit, to be excused from gym for six weeks due to a sprained earlobe, to not get detention for wearing black socks, to avoid being elbowed while dressing, to have time to shower ami dry, to have a stuffed nose so you can't smell the locker room. These aims are achieved by few, however, so stash the cookies and put out the cigarettes-Go, you chicken fat, go. ----PM ' - .. ,... . .J '- ' - 'av ' i A----., YY '- M ' .' I really want to make a stereo cabinet but my teacher said that I had to have more than two days of woodworking. So, I'm making a shelf. Maybe I can take auto-shop next year. But, when I mentioned last night that I can't wait to overhaul the carburetor and get at the clutch, Dad ran out and locked the garage door. business education s The first assignment in typing is always the same-off with the fingernails. But with a little prodding from the teacher, and a threatened failure on the report card, the nails come off. Other business students are luckierg they don't have to worry about losing their claws. They merely have to struggle to decode a system of hieroglyphics known as shorthand. Yet, the Business Department prepares many students each year for secretarial and stenographic work. The students then realize - that those timed writings pay off. Mr. Frank Collins -- rrtigfri if N .., 1151! r -- ug' 4, . . ,, l i -. pi u ISR, , , A . ,ur ,H Nl i.
