First, I discovered that one can not properly trill an r and simultaneous- ly blow a bubble. And, upon receiving a 25 on a dictee, it became apparent that there is no way known to man of discerning the imperfect form of the con- ditional. I also learned, after running hysterically out of class, that that unearthly noise was not an air raid drill signal, but merely the barrier release. Somewhat wiser, I decided to save homework time by answering the guide questions without reading the entire chapter.
