CFOSS-COLll1tI'y Cross Country is one of the most demanding of fall sports. This year was no ex- ception as a small turnout forced an abnormal amount of pressure upon seniors Richard Kusack, Gary Hendrickson, and Ed Beddow. Besides being subjected to a rigorous schedule, one might guess that the loneliness of these long distance runners would cause them to lose enthusiasm. Instead, they were impelled to work harder and harder in the face of recurrent defeat. The pre-game prayer as performed by Teddy Leinwand. l T ' tennis 7-5 Following the general trend of success achieved by North's fall sportsmen, the Varsity Tennis team recorded its first winning season under the direction of Mr. Richards. With an impressive turnout of juniors headed by Larry Gross, Bob Alter and Stan Schutzman the team's con- tinued success after the year's 7-5 record seems assured. Senior Steve Feingold teamed with them to engineer an exciting 3-2 victory over V. S. South, climaxing their league season. Other players making significant contribu- tions during the season were Seniors Doug Falk and Jeff Cohen and junior Larry Kaplan, who would unfailingly register clutch victories. . , -5LL:L ' L. to R.: K.
