Mr. Arthur Doolittle, Director chorus -i..,,,,,., Q ,T H 5 ui. .i 'iii The way to start the day is with a song. Ask Mr. Doolittle or any of the hundred students who do just that every day. Not only does the chorus provide enter- tainment for the janitors in the morning, but it also performs at holiday concerts and as- semblies. The a cappella choir, composed of select voices from the main chorus, the Bar- bershop including Bobby Sunshine, Greg Dib, Arno Housman and Jay Sivin, and the Beauty Shop, with Judi Fraenkel, Linda Flores and juniorsl Linda Eskenazi and Carol Vesper are some of the special groups of the chorus. The soloists who sing at the school dances, plays and the annual P.T.A. Talent Show also corne from North High's chorus. fx

band Providing a musical background for eighth period classes, the band, under the direction of Mr. Ken- neth Menrad, rehearses incessantly. The members of the band have a wide variety of arrangements in their repertoire, including marches, popular show medleys, and novelty pieces. The diligent efforts of the student musicians, however, do not go un- rewardedg outstanding members are invited to par- ticipate in District and All-State Band. Is this the way to blow your mind? I'll bet his tastes better than mine. I wonder if Benny Goodman started out this way?
