X Mr. Robert Albert, Adriror Q-' chariot DEADLINE NIGHT Their cheery faces rapidly turn to expressions of horror as they view the results of a deadline. A battlefield looks better than Room 243. Approximately ten hardy staff members are distributed around the room, sprawled across desks, sitting on the window sill or, if tired enough, the floor. Mr. Albert sits at his desk cracking ,jokes that he has to repeat three times before even he can laugh at them. Editor-in-Chief Ellen Heuman, in between eating Almond Joys and trying to focus her closed eyes on copy, tries to convince Mr. Albert that he should read some of the literary gems in front of him instead of sitting there laughing at his own corny jokes. Meanwhile, Editor-in-Chief Judi Bobbe calmly sucking her tootsie roll lollipop, suddenly screams as she discovers that page 147 is missing. A search begins, starting on the floor, where rejected copy and discarded triplicates are practically a foot deep. Shouts of joy are heard far down the darkened halls, as the missing page is found unscathed by the saucy remains of veal scallopini, pizza and sausage heroes. A celebration is called and Food Editor Messer returns with hot chocolate and apples for all. In between the eating, the laughing, and the crises Cso what if two out of five deadlines were missedj the staff manages to create a yearbook full of the year of 1967-1968 as only Spartans will remember it.
