Barbara Casino, Vnledirlariazz Mitchell Blair, Srvlnlfztorimz To assure that each member of the large senior class received personal atten- tion in college and job planning, the grade was aided by two guidance counselors, Mr. Joseph Mercurio and Mr. john Miele. Usually found snowed under a pile of applications, moaning about the january first deadline, Mr. Mercurio worked dili- gently to make sure that applications due before February arrived by April. Devot- ing many hours to finding opportunities for seniors' future careers, Mr. John Miele shared Mr. Mercurids workload. So while you're celebrating at a college beer party or opening a fat pay check, think of the two men whose guidance and efforts helped make it possible. When we worried that our depleted treasury might force us to have our prom at La Stella's, Mr. Davis laughed away our fears. Enthusiastic and interested, he took an active role in helping us plan an exciting and profitable junior carnival. Knowing him has been a unique and exciting experience. . l i

ii . , 'Q ' '4'i'. i Steve Evans, Pre.ride1zt seniors We soon discovered that the senior year was not as easy as we were led to believe. Somehow there seemed to be piles of school- work and extracurricular activities that were just begging for senior participation. Magazine Drive Chairmen Sue Edrich and Marty Rabach, assisted by high salesman Phil Friedberg, helped the Class of '68 to sell 312,000 worth of magazines, a new record. Striking Maria Fragola was chosen as North High's Queen and reigned at the Coronation Dance and the North-South game, which we won 12-6. Our entry in the float parade was Maya, featuring a life-size elephant planned and executed by Bruce Bedney and Phil Friedberg. The winning Senior One-Act Play, Impromptu, was directed by jeff Tabak and Lori Sands and starred Steve Miller, Laurie Gordon, Liz Malesk, and Eric Richard. Barbara Casino was named valedictorian and Mitch Blair, salutatorian. Our six years together ended with the longest prom weekend ever held, starting with the prom at the Four Seasons Country Club and stretching through the Memorial Day weekend. Enthusiastic prom chairmen were Cindy Greenspan and Steve C the Schwanj Schwartz. The Senior Dinner followed with seniors grabbing yearbooks and eagerly flipping through the pages that hold the memories of our years at North.
