student council elections Council Elections becomes a fight to see which party can spend the most money on campaigns. Thumbs Up, chaired by Aileen Gould and Steve Evans, distributed combs, rulers, pens and telephone dialers. jeff Tabak, the leader of PLAN retaliates with larger combs, buttons and rulers. Students choose their parties and attend numerous fund- raising dances with bands and refreshments. In return for this support, the candidates promise a student lounge, pop music to fill the lunchroom, and a coke machine. After hearing all the speeches and deciding who are the best-quali- fied Spartans, students go to the polls and elect Richie Horowitz, Doug Falk, Karen Schonberg, Dickie Bentley and Linda Balogh.
