Andrew Berner SALUTATORIAN Versatility is the key to our salutatorian, Debbie Zubow. A random sampling of a few of her many titles: Girl Scout and 4-H Leader, Camp Art Instructor, Swimming Instructor, illustrates her wide range of abilities. She also is a member of National Honor Society, French Honor Society, and Astra. When this editor-in-chief of CADET is not to be found in the CADET room, chances are that she is down in the auditorium practicing the organ. Debbie was one of the highest ranking French students on Long Island in the American Association of Teachers of French contest, and was awarded a prize by that organization. Her facility in language study has led Debbie to consider this field as her tentative major at Swarthmore College next year, where she will continue her education. VALEDICTORIAN If one were to ask any member of the District Orches- tra about Andrew Berner, undoubtedly the reply would be full of enthusiasm about Andy's piano playing. This article, however, is not about Andy 'Berner, pianistg it is about Andy Berner, valedictorian. This Julliard student has the honor of attaining the highest scholastic average of the class of 1967. Excelling in the two fields of music and scholarship would be more than enough for any other person, but Andy's talents do not stop there. He is the editor-in-chief of CADET, a member of National Honor Society, Tempo, and captain of Mathletes, ranking fourth in all Nassau County. In the District Festival Concert he played Bee- thoven's Piano Concerto in C Major, a fifteen minute tour de force . if Deborah Zubow
