Prinvipal 's ,Message TO THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1956 VALLEY SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL. The faculty of Valley Springs High School has observed, with pride, your growth in all the fields of human endeav or ov e r the past four years. Y ou r progress a s a group and as an individual h a s been quite gratifying to the people that have been most interested in your success. One very outstanding characteristic of your group has been your ability to get along within your group and among other groups. lntimes when industry con- siders that the chief reason for failure is the in- ability to get along with people, this is an import- ant asset for you. Perhaps this characteristic of yours and other groups of your age, will grow to influence our National leadership in its efforts to get along harmoniously with other peoples. When we stop to consider by what criterion we s hall u s e , we find that it is impossible to measure the success of a person by such limited things a s the amount of money he accumulates, the power he builds up, or the ease with which he fools people. No, success is not a stagnate state of being which one reaches and then stopsg rather it is a pr oc e s s , an active process with varying d e g r e e s . Success, therefore, can be measured only in t e r m s of growth. It matters not in what field of human endeavor you are en- gaging, if you a r e growing in that field you are succeeding. When you stop growing you will stop succeeding. We hope that you will keep that in mind throughout your life of serv ice to man. Valley Springs School shall m i s s you in years to come, but we shall follow you with interest in your wider field of service, Sincerely, Principal.
