I9rii1ci,ui1l's Message Z0 Che Seniors The faculty of Valley Springs School would like to say to the seniors of 1955 that we are happy to have been a part of your form al school education, We have observed with much interest, your development in the social, intellectual, and spiritual realms of growth. Graduation from high school is a worthy goal for any young person to seek, and you will soon reach that goal. The victories over some of the realities of life have not been easily won for you. So m e of your classmates have fallen out along the path because they lacked the stamina that you have exemplified. As you go forth to explore the world of tomorrow, we feel that you will hold always some of the memories of your high school days--memories of interesting days in the classroom, of funny incidents along the way,of basket- b all games , of musical contests, of things the gang did, of associations with one another, of friendships, of vacation days, and of guidance given you by your teachers. As you seek to make the best of your ability either in a higher educ ation or in industry, you must keep in mind that no endeavor is worthy of being engaged in that does not call for your best efforts and hard work. A day dreamer doesn't have the vision for success with his wro ng slant on life. Progress comes about because someone has the vision to realize a need, plans the procedure to take in regard to this need, and then works that plan in a practical way. In the light of present day methods of war, we rnust find a realistic meaning of the word Freedom, and in that meaning must be the living together as individuals and as nations in global universe. This generation of adults looks with o ptimis m to you boys and girls to do a better job with freedom than we have. The learning of this lesson of living successfully with other people will often dishearten you, but will also challenge the best within you. You owe a debt of gratitude to your parents and others who have made your education possible.
