CLASS PROPHECY Dear Diary Here rt rs une 17 1967 and I ean Malcarne am wartrng to start my new positron as a crew cut trimmer for French poodles rn Prerres Puppy Shop Talk about corncrdences and small worlds' Srnce the time I called a taxr rn New York yesterday morning to get my plane at LaGuardia I have seen or heard from every single member of Valley Regional High School Class of 1952 It all started when the taxr stopped for gas and my attention was attracted by a petrte grrl wrth a very famrlrar appearance At closer HOIICC I saw rt was Alrce Monte She told me she rs now marrred to joe and that he and rmmy Hartzell own the garage She pornted to another grrl who was pumping gasoline we saw that rs was none other than Shirley Rutty also marrred As we approached the arrport I summoned a porter to care for my bags I recog nrzed the sleepy eyed red cap as Harry oy He said that he never cared to settle down and lrkes being rn the big crty on hrs own Insrde the airport I walked up to the rnfor matron booth to ask about last minute arrangements when I noticed Dorothy Fazzrno madly typing away She told me that rf I had any trouble with my tickets to see Bob Guertrn who holds a high positron rn the office so I went to see hrm As we chatted awhile he mentioned that Joann Norton was now runnrng Yanardr s Coal and Orl Com pany rn the summer while Mrke plays professional baseball While talkrng to Bob I happened to notrce a new 1962 Pontiac drrven by ohn Saffery who has now taken over the permanent positron as chauffeur for Dr Smith At that moment I heard the plane about ready to load rts passengers so I sard a hasty good by to Bob rn order to catch my plane On my way to the plane I stopped to buy a book and noticed that the newest rage was westerns written by an up and coming author Charlie Pandranr Aboard the I was talking to her she mentioned that Betty Zannr and Nancy Southworth were strll working at Saint Agnes School Our first stop was England for one hour At the London Field Airport I heard a famrlrar vorce calling Extra' Extra' As I stopped to buy a paper I notrced the voice belonged to Anna King As we talked I happened to glance through the newspaper and noticed some cute cartoons which Anna told me belonged to eannre Marsh a well established cartoonist rn England Anna suggested we stop at a cafe for a spot of tea As we talked over old trmes she mentioned that she had seen Pat Carey and Althea Post recently They are both statroned rn London doing secretarial work for the Arr Force After our tea I noticed rt was time for me to go back to the plane for the rest of my trrp to Paris As I boarded the plane I saw a famrlrar tall form which I was sure belonged to someone I knew Sure enough rt was Tom Mondanr with hrs wrfe Dorry and their two children It seems that Tom rs now a well established lawyer back rn the states and had decided that a lrttle vacation would do everyone good He told me that he had seen Mike Pettengrll rn a restaurant the other night Mrke rs rn England looking for a new perfume blend to take back to Essex to sell rn hrs pharmacy As the plane left England and we were flying over the English Channel Tom motioned me to look out of the window I drd and saw a speck rn the waters below Tom said that rt was Bob Scobey making hrs third attempt at swrmmrng the channel we were sure hed make rt When we finally landed I harled a taxr and who should be drrvrng rt but Bob MacLean he sard he was very happy and lrked hrs work He took me to my hotel Le Sorroco As I walked up to the desk a famrlrar figure approached me It was Mario Alborghettr who had marrred a French grrl an herress to a charn of Frances most ex clusrve hotels He went over to the krtchen and pornted to Bob Herel vsho rs head chef at the hotel 24 , ' ' J , -, J U A , 7 r I I 1. 4 in , K X , . 5 J ' ' Q , . , .. . 3 n ' 9 9 . .
