Kathy Gram and JoAnn Brinkley were elec¬ ted as freshmen cheerleaders. Joyce McElwee was chosen to represent us in the homecoming queen contest, and Dallas May won the baseball trophy for having the highest batting average of the year. Kathy Gram and Jimmy Trimble were chosen as class favorites, and Miss Jean Lowry and Mrs. Joan Mackey were our class sponsors. Ronnie Seton Buzzard Emma Mae Chestnut Clyde Vennison Cutlip, Jr. Glass History As our minds wander back five years, we remember the day we ar¬ rived at Valley. Seventy-four excited and confused students roamed through the halls, trying to look nonchalant, but only succeeded in looking bewildered. It took us time to get used to the school and the ac¬ tivities, but soon the clubs and classes were under way. We chose the following as our class officers: Tommy Keyser, president; Karen Burns, vice-president; and Dotty Dean, secretary-treasurer. Kathy Gram was chosen as our homecoming queen candidate, while Mts. Ruth Dalton and Mr. Lester Frank were our eighth-grade sponsors.
