Seniors OFFICERS Standing. Angie Braten. Charlene Robertson. Linda Postin, Todd Pruett, Mrs. Agnoletti. Seated: Tracy Little 1980- 1981 In August of 1981, a class of 50 freshmen ar- rived at school, eager to begin four years of high school. We were thankful to finally get a chance to participate in high school sports and clubs, Broadway, and other activities, as well as choose our own classes. With this new freedom, however, came new responsibilities. At our first class meeting we elected officers: Joe Burkiett, president; Brian Nell, vice-president; Tracy Little, secretary; Lyn Morey, treasurer; Tammy Delach, S. C. Rep. We decorated the halls and a car for Spirit Week, and choose Staci Brown and Scott Mason as our freshman Homecoming attendants. Our sponsors, Donna Grgurich and Syd Grosclaude, helped guide the Class of 1984” through a successful year. 1981- 1982 We returned for our sophomore year and elected a new set of officers: Joe Burkiett, presi- dent; Brian Nell, vice-president; Beth Zaborac, secretary; Lyn Morey, treasurer; Tammy Delach, S. C. Rep. The class also had a change in spon- sors; they were Donna Grgurich and Jeff Linder. We choose Lyn Morey and Mark Mason as the Homecoming attendants and Spirit Week was highlighted by our winning of the hall decorating contest. We sold pizzas to raise money for our almost nonexistent treasury. By the end of the year we had received our class rings and many of us had our drivers licenses. Another successful year had passed for the Class of 1984. 1982- 1983 In the fall of 1982, we returned as juniors, relieved to be upperclassmen at last. The year began with the election of officers: Stacy Parker, president; Tracy Little, vice-president; Linda Postin. secretary; Angela Stephenson, treasurer; Todd Pruett, S. C. Rep. We also changed spon- sors for the third time. They were Donna Grgurich and Karen Agnoletti. Tammy Delach and Mark Johnson were chose as our Homecoming attendants. The class and sponsors devoted much time to the junior concession stand at foot- ball and basketball games. The money earned from this and the selling of lightbulbs was used to put on a very successful prom for the seniors. It was held at the Heritage House Restaurant in Peoria on April 30. The theme was Only Time Will Tell” and Lyn Morey and Scott Mason were elected Princess and Prince. 1983-1984 At last we were seniors!!! The last three years had passed quickly and we were now top men on the totem pole. In the spring we had elected class officers for the last time: Tracy Little, president; Linda Postin, vice-president: Angie Braten, secretary; Charlene Robertson, treasurer; Todd Pruett. S. C. Rep. Our sponsors were again Donna Grgurich and Karen Agnoletti. Homecoming Queen and King were Lyn Morey and Mark Mason and the senior attendants were Tammy Delach and Scott Mason. We once again won the Hall decorating contest with our theme, Every Breath You Take. The traditional orange and black caps and gowns and graduation an- nouncements were ordered. Tracy Little received the DAR and Joe Burkiett received the SAR award. Scott Mason and Angie Stephenson were chosen to reign over the Prom that was held on April 28 at the Holiday Inn Brandywine in Peoria with the theme Come What May.” Bac- calaureate was held May 20. May 31 — the day we had so long awaited — GRADUATION — final- ly arrived. The class flower was the white rose and the colors were Maroon and Silver. The class motto was I am who I am. and I will pursue my own perfection. Top scholarship awards went to Tracy Little, Valedictorian, and Staci Brown, Salutatorian. As alumni looking back, wecan see all of the wonderful memories of our four years at Valley, while at the same time, we look forward to what the future will hold for the “Class of 1984.” 17
