Sophomores In the fall of '72, sixty timid sophomores entered the halls of Valley High School. Known as the new pride and joy of Valley, the class held the first class meeting on September 5. With the assistance of the class sponsors, Mrs. Edith Wilcoxen and Mr. Wilmer Willis, the following officexs were elected: President........... Vice-President . . . Secretary........... Treasurer........... S. C. Representative . John Deushane Merl Markley . Sheryl Uhland Jayne Chatterton . Vicki Morey Just when the routine of school was going smoothly, the seniors announced sophomore initiation. Members of the sophomore class were assigned bizarre costumes and were made to perform stunts for the loving seniors. Then came the terrifying experience in the afternoon. Uhg! Blah! As the worst day of the year was over, plans were made for the Homecoming float using the theme, Happiness is ... A Viking Victory. Becky Markley and John Deushane were chosen as the sophomore attendants. The school year was filled with many surprises and adventures which will be cherished as happy memories. The class of '75 is now looking forward to the junior year, the moving to new Valley halls, and a chance to acquire new memories. 30
