Chess Team Makes Right Moves kno O N- ' 2' Q f T 5 Sitting: Mike Ryan and Albert Tabola. Standing: Helen Gerth, Robert Werbicky, Thor Kuhlow, and Dave Singh. Practice Tuesday and play Wednesday. This was the schedule of the Chess Team which represented Valley well by competing with other high schools. Advised by Mr. Steve Painter, the team learned and applied some of the more advanced moves. The members were given an educational background and social outlet based on the dramatic fine arts. Advised by Mr. Anderson, they sup- ported the theatre department's plays, held parties, and sponsored a float at Homecoming. Meetings were held on a bi-monthly average, and anyone from the student body was invited tojoin.
