Members porticipoted in locol tournoments ond represented the school, city, ond stote in two out- of-stote tournoments in Colifornio ond,Arizono. The club sponsored o tournoment ot'VoIley, VIC- TORIES: the Volley lnvitotionol Competitive Tournoment of Rhetoric, lnterpretotion, Ensemble, ond Speech. Members could compete os debote teoms, os in- dividuol deboters, or in individuol cotegories. Some served in the copocity os ossistont tournoment monogers. Selected students olso competed in community con- tests, speoking for the Lion's Club ond the Americon Legion. They hod to meet ogoinst students from the en- tire school district. Port of their membership involved selling condy bors ond other items to roise funds for the group. The pro- ceeds were used to help finonce the trips. ' They olso worked in conjunction with the Thespions to help promote the fine orts ot Volley. Mr. Anderson instructed the closs ond odvised the club.
