School Welcomes Porents to Open House r Q w 1 , ,, - ' N, I l Open House, held on November 8, begon with performonces in the gymnosium. Bond groups, choirs, Songleoders, cheerleoders, ond Donce Brovo entertoined. The porents then followed o mini-schedule of their sonsfdoughters' regulor clossesg they were guided to the rooms by members of the Student Council. Teochers gove o ten minute presehtotion of their courses' gools ond expectotions. The evening wos designed os on introduction to the school, teochers, ond courses rother thon o porent-teocher conference for individuol students. 206 Activities Student Body Chooses '85 Officers in Mid-Term Election P r e s i d e fi T The 84-85 student body elections were held the week of Jonuory 7-11. lt wos o strong election, ond the students chose for student body president Dovid Her- polsheimer. Dovid wonted to instill new ideos for school spirit. He stoted, My moin gool is to roise the morole ot V.H.S., we need to regoin thot Viking spirit. Joson Silvis, the new first vice president, stored he hos the quolifico- tions. As for his one yeor os treosurer injunior high not to mention two yeors here ot Volley, he plonned on mok- ing o strong leoder. As o current member of Student Council, Kristen Gberholtzer, our new second vice presi- dent, plons on trying to give students the types of oc- tivities ond progroms they wont ond do her best in pro- Dovid Herpolsheimer moting school spirit. Our new student body secretory, Modeline Gonzolez, intended on devoting much of her time ond full obility to the job, plonning to be totolly dedicoted ond olwoys prepored to work hord, giving the fullest ottention to the students' needs. Hoving por- ticipoted in Student Council since seventh grode, she hos goined much experience to moke o good student body secretory. '84-'85 treosurer Liso Gormon hod previous experience in Student Council ond wos credited with good orgonizotion. She plonned to run things smoothly next yeor while hoving o good time in the process.
