'FY W new fy fM,,, um., Valley High School was established in 1965 and since then has undergone many changes. Students have changed their dress from long hair, mod clothes, and love beads to Levi 501's, mini skirts, and the popular New Wave look. Along with a change in clothing has come a new version of slang which replaces peace, man with hey dude, what's happenin? and groovy with total- ly awesome! It can definitely be said that the times, they are a changin'. Students this year had the usual variety of courses to choose from. Of course, the in- evitable computer invasion established many new computer and business classes. In the past, many seniors were allowed to take only four courses, but the policy has changed. Seniors, amid many groans and complaints, had to take full class loads unless they qualified for a reduced schedule. It was not unusual to see true Vikings flaun- ting every shade of red and white. Buttons with colorful designs and spirited slogans, such as Born to Soar, Class of '84 and We've Got the Vike Pride, decorated en- thusiastic Vike's jeans and t-shirts.
