34 Valley High School Valley High School Band had a new director this ye ar, with new ideas, new techniques and new problems. The marching band changed its style to pre- cision drill and after first performance jitters, entertained half-time audi- ences with intricate marching maneuvers and a new big-band sound. The Terrier marching band also participated in the Giant Balloon Parade in Omaha. The Terrier pep band had a busy year as they provided spirit and enter- tainment at all the home basketball games as well as pep rallies. The pep band also traveled to Platteview for the conference basketball tournament and to Midland College to act as host band for the District Basketball Tourney. Valley High School Symphonic Band developed, through the year into a solid playing organization. This year the symphonic band not only presented a winter and spring concert, but also played for grades K through 5 and pre- sented an all-school assembly. Valley was host to the Conference Band Clinic and placed 12 players in the All-Conference Band. Head Majorette Senior, Ioan Farwell
