Administration Added New Members The Class of 70 was fortunate to have had two principals. In February, after 11 years of service, Dr. Charles Hess left Valley to become the Assistant Superintendent of Business at Laguna Beach. Dr. Hess began at Valley as a basket- ball coach and math teacher. He later became the assistant principal of instruction and acted as principal for two years. Mr. Richard Kirwan, assistant principal of instruction, served as principal for the second semester. Mr. Kirwan began at Valley as a teacher of government and also had experience as principal of control. One of the newest additions to the staff was Mr. Richard Theriot, vice -principal of control. Mr. Theriot came to Valley McFadden. The three principals and the guidance department encouraged and helped the students in every phase of school life.
