Highlighted by the gridders' victory over Rio Grande High School, October passed quickly for busy Vikings. The volleyball team defeated Eldorado to take the second annual Cibola Classic and finished fourth in ZAAAA district. Ben Sandoval, Marc McNeely and Brett Truskowski distinguished themselves with outstanding performances in October's cross coun- try meets. Albuquerque's skies were filled with balloons at the third annual balloon festival. Many of the balloons came down on and near the Valley High School Campus. Bill Bell took the underclass pictures on October 13 and 14. Ms. Hayes made it possible to have Spin- ning Wheel, a professional band, to come play at a buy out assem- bly at the beginning of October. 7- t v 9 Fall Activities 23
