Saga clicateclt rl 'QQS The fifth principal in Valley's 21 years, Merl Riggs has added his own style to the traditions of the school. An active principal, Mr. Riggs visits classes to talk to students and listen to their gripes. He attends many school activities and nearly all sports events. He says. I'm constantly amazed at how friendly the Vikings are and at how much pride they have in their school. l've noticed that from the first day l set foot on campus. Besides. as he says. hoIding up the Media Center during A and B lunches. Mr. Riggs oversees the many phases of running a large high school from signing purchase orders to attending administrative area meetings to meeting with students and their parents. It is to this active, interesting, interested man, the 1975 Saga staff proudly dedicates its book.
