Limits So As To Include All Students X If .J Mr. Micheal Gruner explains Animal Home Ranges to his third period Biology I class. With so many sophomores this year, the science department had to hire a new teacher, lVIr. Duffey. He taught just Biology I to the overflow of students. Not only are the sopho- mores numerous, but also the juniors and the seniors, Mr. DiNelIo was teaching more chemistry classes than ever before. Biology ll is a class designed for seniors with the exception of a few juniors. This class was expanded to the limits, to include most interested students. Zoology and Conservation instead of being a combined year course had been separated and each was enlarged to a full year course. These two classes were offered as electives to juniors and seniors, Zoology takes many field trips around the city, to the west mesa and to the irrigation ditches to trap animals for observa- tion and studying purposes. Physics is another class offered at Valley with the seniors in mind, but it also allows room for some interested juniors. Ft.O.T.C. this year was awarded with the honor of being one of the ten best units in the United States. Aerospace was what the B.O.T.C. studied during the year along with subjects like physics and chemistry. Mr. Harry Bishop has been head of the Science Department for 19 years and has been doing an excellent job.
