These were some of the topics covered in the Social Studies Department under the direction of Robert Werstler. Besides the required U.S. History and World History, four other electives were offered. S Two new courses were added this year. Social Studies Seminar offered study in a variety of Social Sciences. Students did extensive study in such social problems as revolutions, their history and their different causes and effects. Students also turned in term papers dealing with social problems, world prob- lems, and politics. Anthropology, another new course, studied man and his history. Field trips to museums and caving projects were a part of the class's program. Sociology which dealt with social and personal problems was a Senior course for students who were interested in current international problems.
