Many Club Events Mr. Ed DiNello was born in Sugarite, New Mexico, and has been with Valley for the last ten years, as a Chemistry teach- er. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education and a Mas- ter of Arts in School Adminis- tration from the University of New Mexico. He is the sponsor of the Senior Class. Mr. Alfred S. Dzielak, wood- shop teacher, has now been with Valley for two years. He is from Scranton, Penn- sylvania, and retired from military service. Mr. Dzie- lak has a Bachelor of Sci- ence in Industrial Arts Edu- cation from the University of New Mexico. Mr. James H. Doughty has been with Valley for three years, teaching Bookkeep- ing and General Business. He is also assistant football coach and head track coach. Mr. Doughty, born in Law- ton, Oklahoma, received his Bachelor of Arts at Central State College, Edmond, Ok- lahoma. His hobbies are fishing, hunting, and read- ing- Mrs. Ruthe Duquette, a new- comer at Valley this year, teaches English. She is a na- tive Albuquerquean and re- ceived her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and English from the University of New Mexico. The things that interest her most are speech, drama, and various other crafts. Mrs. Martha Eubank has been at Valley for ten years and is one of the Charter Members. Mrs. Eubank, who was born in Sebring, Florida, teaches Girls ' Physical Education and sponsors the Bowling Club and G. A. A. She holds a Bach- elor degree from Florida State College for Women and a Master of Arts from the University of Florida and Columbia Univer- sity. Mrs. Eubank ' s hobbies include hunting, fishing, skiing, swimming, cooking, ing. Mrs. Mildred Faris has been at Valley for three years. She teaches U. S. History and Jour- nalism and also sponsors the Future Teachers of America and The Legend. Mrs. Faris, who was born near Dodge City, holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Science in Edu- cation from New Mexico West- ern. Her hobbies include photo- graphy, music, art, and swim- ming. sewing, and travel- Miss Carleen F. Farnam has been with Valley for five years. She teaches biology and sponsors the F. T. A. club here at Valley. Miss Farnam has obtained two degrees and has attended five universities. She was born in Moore Haven, Florida, and her favorite hobbies are reading, photography, po- etry, and collecting ceramic frogs. Mrs. Kathleen Ann Fiske is completing her first year at Valley as an English teacher. She attended three colleges during her schooling. Mrs. Fiske was born in Amarillo, Texas, and says her main in- terests are spectator sports, horses, music, hiking, and picnics. 13

Teachers Sponsor Miss Kay Clauve has been with Valley four years and teaches Shorthand, Typing I, and Transcription. She sponsors Sigma Beta Epsi- lon, a business education honorary society. Miss Clauve ' s hobbies include reading, bowling, and play- ing Bridge. She is origi- nally from Wabash, Indiana, and she received her B. S. in education from the U. N. M. Mr. Vincent Cappelli has been teaching at Valley High since Valley was built ten years ago. He was born in New York City, New York, and holds a Master of Arts from New York University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Cappelli is Physical Education teacher and sponsor of the Lettermans Club. His hobbies include all sports, construction, scouting — Mas- ters License in U. S. Maritime Service. Miss Sandra Chaput has been with Valley for the last two years. She teaches French I, II, and III and sponsors the French Club (le Cercle Fran- cais). Miss Chaput, who was born in Syracuse, New York, holds an A. B. in French from Syracuse University. Her hob- by is traveling from New York to New Mexico and back a gam. Mr. Joe M. Correll has been with Valley for two years, teaching mathematics and German. Mr. Correll, born in Monticello, Kentucky, received his Bachelor of Arts at Berea College, Be- rea, Ky. He is sponsor of the varsity tennis team. His hobbies include any sports. Mr. R. Crocco teaches World History, Sociology, and Psy- chology. He ' s been with the faculty here at Valley since it opened and sponsors the golf team. Mr. Crocco is interested in golf, reading, and history. He is from Pittsburgh, Penn- sylvania, and holds B. S. and M. S. degrees from the Univer- sity of New Mexico. 12 Mrs. Rebecca R. L avis nas been with Valley for the past six years teaching English. Mrs. Davis was born in Pennsylvania but received her Bachelor of Arts and Science at the Univer- sity of Ohio. Her hobby is read- ing. Miss Wilma Lee Deen has been at Valley for ten years and is one of the charter members of Valley. Miss Deen, who teaches Stenog- raphy I, Typing I and II, was born in Texas. She says her hobbies are gardening and reading. Miss Deen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Highlands University and Master of Arts from the U. N. M. Mrs. Roberta D. Demaret is a biology teacher and co- sponsor of the Valley High Science Club. She attended Stanford University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and the University of New Mexico for her Master of Science in Biology. Mrs. Demaret was born in Trin- idad, Colorado, and enjoys music as well as sewing. She has been teaching at Valley for the past two years. She says she likes to catch loose snakes.

Dick Fox, born in Ros- coe, Texas, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Mexico. In his ninth year at Valley, Mr. Fox teaches physical education, specializ- ing in football and basketball. Among his favorite hobbies are water sports. Mr. William V. Gabbert has been with Valley for three years teaching orchestra. Mr. Gabbert, born in Bloom- ington, Illinois, received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Weslayan and Master of Science at the University of Illinois. Mr. M. A. Garcia was born in Kingsville, Tex- as, and received his Bach- elor and Master of Arts during his college edu- cation. His favorite hob- bies are music and sports Mr. Garcia has been at Valley for five years teaching World History. Mr. Frank Gilmer, a na- tive of Albuquerque, has been with Valley for nine years, teaching typing, personal typing, and of- fice practice. He is also Chairman of the Business Education Department. He received his Bachelor of Science at the Univer- sity of New Mexico and Master of Business Ad- ministration at the Uni- versity of Denver. Mr. Gilmer ' s hobbies include traveling and Volkswag- ens. Mr. Edward M. Gnall, born in Throop, Pennsylvania, received his Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of New Mexico. Now completing his second year at Valley, Mr. Gnall teaches Junior English. His hobbies are hunting, fish- ing, and camping, whenever time permits. Mrs. Margaret D. Gonzales, another charter member, has been at Valley for ten years. Mrs. Gonzales, who was raised in Albuquerque, teaches both English III and Spanish II and sponsors Los Noriegos, the Spanish club. She received a Bachelor and a Master of Arts from U. N. M. and also a Master of Arts from Leland Standford Jr. College. Mrs. Gonzales ' s hobbies include traveling, music, reading, and collecting speeding tickets, especially near the school grounds. Miss Jo Anne Gray, a soph- omore and senior English teacher, has been with Val- ley for two years. She also sponsors the junior class. Raised in Commerce, Texas, Miss Gray obtained both her Bachelor and Master of Arts from East Texas State Col- lege in Commerce, Texas. Her hobbies include read- ing and sewing. Mr. Keith B. Grisham, a na- tive of Albuquerque, has been teaching Biology here at Valley for two years. He is also co-sponsor of the Science Club.
