Thank yous and goodbyes are always hard to say, but we would like to take this means of doing both. It has been 2 fun year and a busy year. We hope as you have looked at this yearbook, you have remembered all the exciting things which happened at Valley. Special thanks go to our school board and our advertisers without whose support, there would have been no year book. David Setliff The work of a community and school is a never-ending task, and without those who are willing to accept the responsibilities of getting the job done, progress would never be ac- complished. Such a person as this was David Setliff, who accepted responsibility willingly whether it meant following or leading. David was an active member of his community and an avid supporter of its school and its activities. At the time of his death, David was serving as a member of the Valley School Board and had served in the past as a president of the Booster Club. He could always be counted on for his attendance and support at school activities. Without men such as this who are willing to work and set an example for young people to follow, our school and community would have little chance of survival. With this in mind, the Annual Staff respectfully dedicates this issue of the 1987 Patriot to the memory of David Setliff.
