Class Huston Four years ago s1xty one bundled up Freshmen started from the1r warm lgloos to the North Pole The drlver of our green and Whlte Bobsled was Manlyn Lowe In the seat of asslstant drlver was B1ll Bryan Then 1n cllmbed L1ll1e Owen as our record keeper and Rebecca Keith as our money keeper We had very strong huskles pull1ng our sled and our long Journey started Our huskles soon became hungry, and we had to stop and sell penc1ls to buy food for them Whlle we were busy feeding them a few of our passengers declded to change sleds They were Dale Caldwell Ermadean Plerce Janie Presnell Donetta Layman Linda Layman and Sue Woods Our money keeper Rebecca Kelth lnformed us that we had money left from buylng food but not for long We spent lt on a Leap Year Party The party was such a success that we had to take t1me out to recuperate When we assembled agaln we had galned Wanda Clark Charles Schmldt, and Sharon Trav1o1 so we now had f1fty restless Sophomores We changed drlvers and 1nto the dr1ver's seat we put B111 Bryan Marllyn Lowe moved back to as slstant driver Whlle Rebecca Kelth moved up to record keeper and Wanda Clark got in as money keeper However Wanda got off ln the middle of the trip to take up housekeeplng and Mary Wardle took over our llttle Before we had gone far we had to make a few mlnor repalrs At th1S stop we plcked up Pat Moeller and Jerry Hill With our two new passengers we resumed our Journey but before long a few passengers got tlred of r1d1ng These were Sue Brltton Betty Busiere Kenny Creasey Velma Eads Sandra Henderson, Joe Hogue, Darla Montgomery Beverly Toney and Pat Moeller Sara Conklm decided to go to a warmer climate Then to make some money we sold cards and we had a party to end our dr1v1ng season Our trip was now half over and three of our passengers decided to follow another trail They were Loretta Green Dick Long and Charles Schmldt Soon lt was t1me to mush on, and we had a new passenger He went by the name of Rlck Castlgllone We also had two eager beavers Carole Cuslck and JoAnn McFarland who are taklng the trlp ln three years instead of four and we regamed Sara Conklin and Joe Hogue We now had a total of forty seven passengers We had a completely new drlver by the name of Frank Pickell and the next three seats were occupled by Marllyn Lowe, Lillie Owen and Max MOFFIS On the way our bobsled had a small accident and we lost Pat Burkholder Robert Cramer Dick Ensmlnger Ned Frey Joe Hogue, Marge Hooper David Howerton Jerry Hunter and James Johnson in a snowdrift But we found a former passenger, Loretta Green wandering In the snow During th1s season we had all klnds of fun but lt was not all play and no work We had a very successful magazine sale, also a variety show At the end of the year we celebrated by g1v1ng a Cinderella Ball for the class of 58 O I - - . .
