Miss Ruth Kadow supervised this year's Notehand Club and its many activities. Some of the activities included taking a trip to Kent State and raising money for the library. The members raised money for the library by participating in the College Night Program, by selling bakery during the lunch hour, and by sponsoring a dance. The members of this club often return after graduation to speak at one of the meetings. Belonging to this club is a profitable experience for all Notehand students. 94 Ve.. l John Kirby puzzles over the mysteries of the slide rule. Advised by Mr. Loren Castor, the Math Club was composed of students interested in furthering their knowledge of mathematics. Interesting programs were pre- sented at the monthly meetings by members of the club. Slide rules, delta x, and the cube of a binomial, were terms and concepts explored , by the club to make the programs stimulating for the members.

Councils Puzzle On Current Problems 41? Modern American social problems pro- vide the basis for many interesting and informative meetings of the Human Rela- tions Council. The Council, under the direc- tion of president, Kurt Thornbladh, and adviser, Miss Lucille Shillat, participated in many projects, which include working with Working in conjunction with the driver education courses, the Valley Forge Youth Traffic Council is an organization which pro- mates traffic safety by working to inform students and faculty of the hazards and safe- guards of driving. In connection with the State Highway Patrol and the Cleveland Automobile Club, the Council provides infor- mation on traffic safety through movies, assemblies, and the maintenance of a safety bulletin board. The Council exchanged ideas with other interested students during discus- sions at John Carroll University and during the regional meeting in Columbus. Laura Jira and Ernie Peck demonstrate depth perception devices to Cleveland Heights stu- dents tseatedj during psycho-physical testing demonstrations. HUMAN RELATIONS - Bot- tom Row: J. Michalske, L. Skills In Activities Our National Forensic League fosters students' active interest in speech and debate. Advised by Miss Barbara Greider, the Valley Forge Chapter is comprised of stu- dents who participate in vari- ous oratorical contests. Twenty- five points, accumulated by their participation in public speaking, are necessary for membership. Kurt Thornbladh presides over the club. Several members won awards of honor, merit, and distinction. Debate team members meet on Saturday mornings to com- pete with students from local schools. Advised by Miss Greider, one of their goals is to achieve membership in the Na- tional Forensic League. This group merits 'many awards and trophies. ' Jones, J. La Rosa, R. Ludwig.
