Concert Band displayed its musi- cal talent in concert performances in February and May. Members of the band, along with Symphonic Band and Orchestra, acted as mod- erators and guides for the Greater Cleveland Solo and Ensemble con- test which Valley Forge hosted in February. Members also partici- pated in the competition. In all the events Valley Forge partici- pated in, over 6O?6 of the candi- dates received superior ratings. The varied presentations of this musically disciplined group ap- pealed to many audiences. Mr. Elliott coaxes a crescendo from the Girls' Choir. Srail, Flashing across the field and performing precision drills and formations, the Patriot Marching Band appeared as a massive blue unit during opening and halftime game ceremonies. Harmonious melodies accompanied formations led by the high-stepping majorette, Sha1'on Kaminski and drum major, Jeff Kreutzer. Under the direction of Mr. David Petrella, practice sessions were held daily to enable the band to produce a polished performance each time it played.
