To VF Business Students Learning to develop competent leadership and grasping office techniques were the goals of the Business Leaders of Valley Forge. Serving as advisers, Mrs. Chase, Mrs. Krueger and Mrs. Krempasky guided mem- bers in maintaining an efficient club and in making intelligent choices as to business occupations. Gary Toghill served as presi- dent of this organization which held a car- wash and a bake sale to boost their treasury. Their main services to our school included the operation of the typing pool and the supply store. Credit both on the job and in the class- room was given to students in DECA, the Distributive Education Club of America. Graded by their adviser Mr. Ronald Calabria and their employers members of this ex- ceptional group worked at various stores throughout the city and participated in many events, including the Northeastern Ohio Con- vention in Akron. To raise money for their New York trip the group sold mums at foot- ball games and candy during the holidays. Students in the Co-operative Education class received two credits for working both on the job and in the classroom. Advised and graded by Mr. David Straight and their employers, Co-operative Education students participated in business courses related to their jobs. Only seniors were allowed to enroll in this course. Students' activities included a booth at the All-School Party, a candy sale, and an after-game dance. COE-Bottom Row: B. Jacobi, treasurery N. Operate Clinic Successfull xr rs. ,-'X-f Carol La Possy, clinic aide, searches for a student's file card to check his health record. Discussing the values of a medical career, seeing films on nursing, hearing speakers from various colleges, and touring a local hospital constituted the busy, varied program of the Future Nurses Club. The club advisers are Mrs. Shirley Maloch, the school nurse, and Miss Judith Sanders. Mrs. Maloch also supervises the clinic aides who help her in the clinic filing medical cards and administering simple first aid. Our representative of the American Red Cross is Mrs. Minerva Alexander. She receives the work projects ideas from the Red Cross and then asks various clubs to help. The Home Economics Club, one of the newer clubs at Valley Forge, is advised by Mrs. Myra Pinkley. The club's programs were based on the theme of furthering the members' homemaking skills. Using their sewing skills, they made friend- ship kits for the children of Vietnam. Carol Zingale demonstrates nursing skills on Gretchen Voll. wma? Clinic Aides- Bottom Row: Mrs. Maloch, N Berna, D.
