'lm....A Mr. David Petrella Mr. John Elliott Chairman Mr. Cowden directs the Orchestra at the Autumn Concert. Creatively related, the Music and Art Departments stimulate the student's imagina- tion. The courses, which range from Sign- Painting I and Art IV to Boys' Glee and Girls' Choir, provide students with creative, cultural outlets while preparing them for Possible ad- vanced work. A recent addition to the Parma School System, Arts Seminar, is a study of the three major arts: literature, art, and music. These subjects are presented by Mrs. Bonza, Mr. Specht and Mr. Cowden. Art slides, classics in paperback, the listening room, and a planned study trip to New York City provide interesting subject matter for students. 47

Activities Mr. Glenn Preising Mrs. Harriet Hall Providing a balanced curriculum and encouraging each student to participate in some form of physical activity are the main objectives of the physical education department. Boys learn new skills in track, wrestling, football, basketball and baseball. With the emphasis placed on team effort, girls play field hockey, soccer, and volleyball. Individual abilities are developed in tumbling, apparatus and tennis. A mid-semester break occurs when classes combine in a unit of square dancing.
