While administering a placement test, Miss Hauser and Mr. Reusch are amused by a sophomore's question. In this day when the individual is often just a number in the oblivion of a computer, it is a comfort for the Valley Forge student to have an understand- ing counselor. The guidance office has room for only one student at a time. The student knows that his Welfare is the counselor's primary concern. He wants the student to choose the right road to follow and to Miss Carolyn Hansel' M r. John Spinner be successful and happy during and after high school. Any problem important to the well-being of a Valley Forge individual is significant to the coun- selors. For these reasons, the students respect and appreciate their counselors. Consequently, the Archive would like to show its appreciation to the counselors by depicting the significant role the guid- ance office plays in the life of each student. 4 ,E V K Nm, 3. . The Valley Forge Guidance Department is dedicated to the philos- ophy of maintaining the identity of the individual student. The sincere student finds that he always has an interested, well-informed consultant to whom he may turn during periods of indecision and emotional turmoil. Since the basis for personal understanding is knowing one's self, the student finds the counselor's interpretation and evaluation of prime importance.
